Podere ai Valloni is a historical mansion and winery in Alto Piemonte which has been producing Boca DOC from nebbiolo grapes since 1980.
Located along the ancient Traversagna road between the hills, it is a hinge between the area of the Orta and Maggiore lakes, famous for the beauty of their landscapes, villas and parks, and the long valley carved by the Sesia and its tributaries, which climbs up to the Monte Rosa massif, a paradise for mountain lovers.
The vineyard, certified organic, roots on the rocks of the Valsesia Supervulcano, red-violet porphyries that give the peculiar characteristics of elegance and minerality to our wines.
Tastings are the means we prefer to tell the traditions and indicate the innovations of the production cycle, sipping the wines in the dedicated rooms of the cellar.

Our tour at Podere ai Valloni was absolutely the highlight of our time in the region; Valentina was a brilliant tour guide for our small group and we all had a fantastic morning learing about the history and the geology of the area, and sampling the spectacular wines paired with delicious local foods. Beautiful, amazing and delightful! I made two visits to the winery and both times, Valentina served as our host and guide. I made the visit with two groups of friends. Both times, the visit was extraordinary. Indeed, it was far more than a wine tasting or vineyard tour. It was all at once a course in Italian and European history, a short course in environmental science and a delightful wine tasting. Valentina’s passion, in-depth knowledge of wines and the Vineyard made the experience unique, special and memorable. We never felt like tourists but always felt like honored guests at a very special place! I highly recommend visiting!!!

Wat een vriendelijke mensen!
We kwamen er langs op de route.
We hadden geluk dat ze thuis waren want ze werken met reserveringen maar nu ze toch thuis waren werden we geholpen aan een paar lekkere wijnen.
En ook vertelden ze vol passie.
Lieten vanalles zien.
Mooie uitzicht vanaf de top over alle wijnranken.
Zeker een aanrader maar voor zekerheid reserveren.

Beautiful vineyard and fantastic wines. Their Boca bottling is the most elegant and refined Nebbiolo I’ve come across. I’ve had as old a vintage as their 2001 and look forward to some even older bottles I acquired. You can tell that the entire operation is well-funded, as the vineyards, winery, and tasting room (cascina?) are all in great condition. Ana, the owner, was very gracious via email and took the time to respond to a small customer like me, and Caterina, the on-site sommelier and tour guide was very knowledgeable, passionate, and a consummate host. She shared generous portions of the local salami and cheese too, as the ability to enjoy the wine with food is considered as important as the quality of the wine by itself. Highly recommended, and still a hidden gem.
